His love for color, the sense of light-heartedness and dynamism that distinguish his compositions, and which have made him particularly loved by the top players in the sector, are also reflected in the new Weekend Max Mara Signature Collection. A bright color palette gives the collection the typical energy of the summer season: “It’s all so cheerful, light and fun” adds Robertson.
The brightly colored prints reflect the artist’s creations and define the collection, while the essential lines are perfect to highlight the iconic symbol of Weekend Max Mara: the butterfly. Protagonists of lively prints or hand-cut and fixed with adhesive tape, the butterflies come to life on the garments, in all their delicate beauty, evoking a free and imperfect creativity, reminiscent of that of children.
Duct tape, Robertson’s favorite tool, is found in the collection in the form of colored bands that accentuate the silhouette of dresses, shirts and skirts. In addition to butterflies and stripes, also stylized female figures – le Flutterfly women – and Robertson’s sinuous handwriting, characterize the Signature Collection, with a balanced contrast between black and white and lively colors. Also on the accessories triumph the prints of the collection, from the iconic Pastry Bag all sneakers.
Played by the model Sofia Richie, the spirit of the collection was captured by the lens of Dewey Nicks, an American photographer who with his aesthetic sensibility has been able to represent the essence of American pop culture over the years. The set, set up in the almost surreal atmosphere of a tropical garden, is a mix of pop and magic.
